Picking Apples

Two nights this week we had a hard frost. When letting the hens out I noticed the stream had a thin layer of ice over it, just shows how cold it went during the night.
There were some apples left on the trees, so I picked them and filled the bottom of a wheel barrow.

I had my camera with me, because a few apples in the shade had not yet melted their coat of sparkling ice. I thought they looked rather yummy like this, as if they were coated with icing sugar or something.

  1. The apples do look very pretty with the frost on them. Did you and Olivia bake something yummy with them? :o)

  2. Yes, Olivia has made many cakes with them. I think she's posted some of the cakes on her blog.
She made a gorgeous apple pie the other week; there are some pictures of it, not yet on her blog. I’ll tell her to post it; it really looked wonderful, she decorated it was leaves from the left over pastry.
